World renowned historian to speak at Hastings Palestine event

The Hastings and Rye Palestine Solidarity Campaign (HRPSC) will host an online event next Wednesday 20 January discussing the issue of Palestinian expulsion. Set to speak at the event are historian Ilan Pappé and author Ghana Karmi. The HRPSC issued the following  preview.

Refugee support actions on the Stade and Rock-a-Nore beach

Britain’s treatment of refugees has been to the fore in the town this week, with a demonstration against deportation flights on Thursday and the Lighthouse Project, a show of solidarity with refugees crossing the Channel, due to be held on Rock-a-Nore beach on Saturday evening. Protest and petition against HBC’s bathing pool site scheme

Local community groups are planning a public protest against the large housing estate planned by the council on the old bathing pool site in West St Leonards next weekend, and will deliver a petition in support of their case to the Full Council meeting in mid December. Nick Terdre reports.
