Hastings and St Leonards Community Composting Group have launched their third hub, in central Hastings, and already have their eyes on a fourth, following an invitation to set up in Hollington, Here they will also get going on outreach work. Nick Terdre reports.

For those living in blocks of flats, or who for some other reason are precluded from the pleasures of composting, help is on the way. The newly established Hastings & St Leonards Compost Community has just established its first composting hub for communal use and is now working to open up new sites across the town. Nick Terdre reports.
As part of the Heritage Open Days event, the Alexandra Park greenhouse opened its doors last weekend to a host of visitors in a continued bid to help raise money for the ‘Lets Raise the Roof’ campaign. The event helped contribute £900 to the campaign’s £10,000 target which of writing stands at £9,309. Donations are still welcome as the campaign has been extended until 30 September. A campaign to help put a permanent roof on the Alexandra Park Greenhouse continues to blossom but still needs support. The Let’s Raise the Roof crowdfunding campaign began last August and has thus far accumulated £4,939 of its £10,000 target. There is still two weeks left to offer any support you can to help complete the project and restore the structure to its former glory.
