The Hastings and St Leonards Dementia Action Alliance (HSLDAA) is a small charity that is seeking to make Hastings and St Leonards more dementia friendly. Raising awareness and understanding of dementia can help those living with the condition, along with their carers, to confidently live their daily lives. Surviving Christmas issues appeal for funds

Surviving Christmas, which has been helping vulnerable and homeless people in the Hastings and Rother districts for many years, plans to hold its usual open-house event on Christmas and Boxing days, but as it faces the prospect of drawing on its reserves for the second year running, is appealing for donations to support its work, as the charity explains.

HBC funds charity to supply half-term food hampers

During the half-term week HBC has provided funding to Education Futures Trust to provide food hampers to children entitled to free school meals. Several Labour councillors have criticised the local MP and ESCC leader for “failing to guarantee” holiday meals for children in their wards. Nick Terdre reports.

Martha Trust runners go virtual in London Marathon

Are you up for Homelink’s creative challenge?

Everyone has a creative gene in them. If you are shaking your head, think back to when you were a child. Did anything hold you back from painting, drawing, creating dens under the dining room table, making up stories and letting the imagination run free? HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths was reminded of those days when she learned that the local homelessness prevention charity, Homelink, has launched a Sussex-wide creative challenge in aid of local homelessness.
