Bachelor’s Bump pile recommended for planning permission, despite ineligibility

In February the story was that developers up at Martineau Lane/Mill Lane were cocking a snook at the planners of Hastings Borough Council (HBC). Now the Council’s planners are recommending approval of the retrospective application despite the previous one. It looks like unconditional surrender or indulgence by the Council. Queen’s Arcade under sudden threat

Community interest groups ignored as HBC seeks go-ahead to gate three passage-ways

Home Office not planning Napier Barracks replica in Hastings, says HBC

Hastings Borough Council is not aware of any Home Office plans for an accommodation centre for asylum-seekers in the town, the Refugee Buddy Project was relieved to hear when it recently met council representatives. Nick Terdre reports.

Council calls for comments on draft Local Plan

The new Local Plan for Hastings is out to consultation in draft, and the council has issued a call for people to get involved and give their views – it will be the guiding document for planning for the next 18 years. Nick Terdre reports.
