Asymptomatic testing starts in Sussex

A first stage of testing people who may have Covid-19 but show no symptoms has got under way in East and West Sussex. Testing is being carried out at two test sites and a number of participating pharmacies.

Sussex Wildlife Trust response to Coronavirus

Hastings begins to open up

Hastings took an important step towards reopening on Saturday as step three of the government’s relaxation of lockdown restrictions came into effect. The council issued a cautious welcome but was pleased to see the West Hill Lift back in operation. New support measures for local businesses were announced by the government today. Nick Terdre reports.

Coronavirus statistical update: Leicester hotspot revealed by more detailed data

Leicester is now in lockdown, but it only became clear that it was a coronavirus hotspot when a glaring deficiency in the provision of local data was remedied. The more detailed data reveal that the extent of infections at local authority level has been underestimated around the country, including in Hastings, Rother and East Sussex.
