Proposals submitted for £1 million town investment

Hastings Town Deal Board have submitted proposals for four capital build projects to the government. They form part of an accelerated bidding process ahead of the main Town Deal programme under which up to £25m is on offer to boost regeneration in Hastings. Nick Terdre reports.

Coronavirus statistical update: test and trace finally goes local

The government has finally accepted that if test and trace is to work properly, local expertise and resources need to be incorporated alongside the centralised system, though there is as yet no indication that local authorities will be given extra funding to do local contact tracing. Separately the Department of Health and Social Care is said to be planning a merger of NHS Test and Trace with the pandemic response work of Public Health England. “Lack of vision” in HBC’s climate change strategy
