Hastings Borough Council has decided to scrap its proposal to install solar arrays at two sites in the Country Park after receiving advice from Natural England. The news was welcomed by the Friends of Hastings Country Park and local Liberal Democrats. Nick Terdre reports.
Here is an update on the activities and achievements of Community Energy South, established in 2013 as an umbrella organisation and regional hub enabling its members (local community energy groups and community organisations) to grow as sustainable low carbon businesses in the South East of England.
Plans to install solar panels on Christ Church in Ore, while fully in line with Hastings Borough Council’s policy of boosting renewable energy, have run into objections from the council’s planners. Energise Sussex Coast, one of the project partners, is calling on town residents to post a supportive comment. Nick Terdre reports.
