Rising prices prompt more to seek energy advice

The recent rise in energy costs, part of a significant increase in the cost of living, puts many lower-income families, in Hastings as elsewhere, at serious risk of not being able to heat their homes this winter. The severe squeeze is worrying local energy consultants Energise Sussex Coast, but there are still some sources of help they can offer to hard-pressed residents. Nick Terdre reports.

Fuel poverty and energy debt advice available for households hit by Covid

Much needed advice for local households in fuel poverty and energy debt as a result of the Covid pandemic is now available thanks to a grant from British Gas Energy Trust to Hastings Advice & Representation Centre and Energise South Coast. Nick Terdre reports.

Support urged for Christ Church solar energy scheme following HBC refusal

Plans to install solar panels on Christ Church in Ore, while fully in line with Hastings Borough Council’s policy of boosting renewable energy, have run into objections from the council’s planners. Energise Sussex Coast, one of the project partners, is calling on town residents to post a supportive comment. Nick Terdre reports.

Wheels, and a grant, will help energy advice group reach residents in remoter parts

Energise Sussex Coast’s winter energy advice service has resumed. And with the aid of an Energy Caravan the group will be extending its service to out-of-town areas. Nick Terdre reports.
