Government grant opens way to Christ Church restoration

Christ Church in St Leonards has received a “life-saving” grant from the government’s Culture Recovery Fund which will enable it to start a repair programme on its tower and spire. Nick Terdre reports.

Welcome back to newly normal!

Until I visited an Oxford Lieder recital at Fairlight Hall last Saturday evening, I didn’t realise how much I have been missing live music in the good old way (but still subject to social distancing). Now the Hastings Philharmonic are also back to work with a whole programme, a minimum of six events to delight us – a leap of faith in these difficult times, writes Chris Cormack.

Support urged for Christ Church solar energy scheme following HBC refusal

Plans to install solar panels on Christ Church in Ore, while fully in line with Hastings Borough Council’s policy of boosting renewable energy, have run into objections from the council’s planners. Energise Sussex Coast, one of the project partners, is calling on town residents to post a supportive comment. Nick Terdre reports.
