Unique art video collaboration to be shown at Hastings Contemporary

Entangled is a unique video collaboration between two special artists based in Hastings: photographer Paul Knight and composer Polo Piatti. The work is set to be premiered on Thursday 20 October 2022 at Hastings Contemporary.

DLWP hosts International Composers Festival

The International Composers Festival – the only event of its kind in the world – will be returning between 20 and 22 May, bigger and better than ever. For the first time, all the concerts will be taking place in the same major venue – the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. Julian Norridge shares the programme for the weekend with us.

Free concert as Opus Theatre reopens on Saturday

Grant to kickstart urgent repair programme at His Place

The future is looking brighter for His Place community church following the award of a grant from Historic England to perform detailed planning for an extensive programme of repairs and to research its musical heritage. An open day and free concert is planned on 12 March which the church hopes will help drum up community support for its bid for funds to implement the repairs. Nick Terdre reports.

Valentine music for the heart, from Hastings Sinfonia

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Hastings Sinfonia, along with five soloists, have arranged a Valentine Concert – Music for the Heart – consisting of many well-known pieces of music suitably full of passion. Nick Terdre reports.

Daisy and Maisie – and the other HMF results published

The adjudication of the 2021 online Hastings Musical Festival (HMF) took place on Saturday 27 June and the results are published on the website for Singing, Dancing, Instrumental, and Speech and Drama categories. The entrants were allowed to see the entries from their class and, if the other entrants agreed, to share their videos on a private platform. There were over 500 entries for Dance,  over 200 for singing, over 150 for instrumental, and over 130 for Speech.
