Hastings International Piano are thrilled to welcome Shunta Morimoto & Mariamna Sherling back to the historic White Rock Theatre for a special Prizewinners’ Gala Concert. These young pianists thrilled the capacity audience with their performances in the final of the 16th Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition in March 2022. We are delighted that they will be joined once again by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Rory Macdonald. Dominika Hicks writes.

Jazz Hastings will be holding a special benefit session on Thursday 1 December for nationally and internationally known local saxophonist Jason Yarde, who suffered a serious stroke in October. The event will take place at the East Hastings Sea Angling Association on the Stade.
Centre stage at Jazz Hastings’ session on Tuesday 8 November will be American saxophonist, flautist and composer Greg Abate, one of the hardest working musicians on the international jazz circuit, reports Julian Norridge.
With immediate effect, the charity Hastings International Piano is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Vanessa Latarche as Artistic Director. HIP has also appointed Paul Hughes, formerly Director of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and BBC Singers, as a consultant acting Managing Director to build on the success of the 2022 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition and develop future strategy while the search is on for a permanent successor to Ian Roberts.
