Activists urge support for countries hit by climate change

Should climate change polluters pay compensation for the damaging effects of the pollution they cause? Members of Bexhill and Hastings Global Justice Now group think so, and recently held a Walk of Witness to urge action by the government on behalf of poorer countries facing huge bills due to climate change, as they report.

Carers’ Week: Local carers’ charity celebrates and thanks unpaid carers

Care for the Carers, a local charity supporting unpaid carers, is spotlighting the vital role that carers play during this year’s Carers’ Week, which runs from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 June 2022.  The charity is celebrating and recognising the vital contribution made by the UK’s 6.5 million unpaid carers, over 69,000 in East Sussex, who look after a relative, friend or neighbour who couldn’t manage without their help. 5G planning application on Rye Road

An application has been submitted to Hastings Borough Council for an ’18 metre 5G phase 8 monopole combined with wraparound cabinet at the base, additional ancillary equipment cabinets and associated ancillary works on the grass verge fronting 29 Rye Road, Hastings’ by Winchelsea Road and Montgomery Road, just north of the car wash. Care for the Carers raises £1,365 on Bluebell Walk

26 May: TUC ‘Hastings Demands Better’ cost of living meeting
