Carers’ Week: Local carers’ charity celebrates and thanks unpaid carers

Care for the Carers, a local charity supporting unpaid carers, is spotlighting the vital role that carers play during this year’s Carers’ Week, which runs from Monday 6 to Sunday 12 June 2022.  The charity is celebrating and recognising the vital contribution made by the UK’s 6.5 million unpaid carers, over 69,000 in East Sussex, who look after a relative, friend or neighbour who couldn’t manage without their help. Care for the Carers raises £1,365 on Bluebell Walk

Care for the Carers was delighted to be invited to run the Arlington Bluebell Walk for the first time on Monday 16 May. The charity supports anyone looking after a relative or friend in East Sussex.

Bursting The Bubble: new film from young carers

Local young carers have produced a new film sharing their experiences, to be launched on Young Carers’ Action Day! In partnership with charities, Care for the Carers and Culture Shift, the film, ‘Bursting the Bubble’, shares the young people’s experiences of caring. The film launches on 16 March as part of nationwide activities to mark Young Carers’ Action Day, with a special screening taking place for young carers, young adult carers, professionals and funders.

Making Caring Visible this Carers Week

Local charity Care for the Carers is highlighting the role of unpaid carers this June.  A week of recognition for carers is coming up to raise awareness of carers, the challenges they face and their vital role looking after people who couldn’t manage without their care.
