Quartet of the best graces the Jazz Hastings stage

Evening of strings with London Mozart Players on Friday

String music is the theme at St Mary in the Castle this Friday when the London Mozart Players return to Hastings for the second concert in their LMP by the Sea series. The finale will see them joined by 100 young string players from the area, writes  Nick Terdre.

Beethoven’s birth remembered in Hastings Sinfonia’s opening concert of 2020 season

Hastings Sinfonia includes a well-known work by Beethoven in its opening 2020 season concert on Saturday 1 February in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the great composer’s birthday. In mid-year it has concerts with the London Mozart Players and separately will be presenting a concerto written around Queen’s greatest hits. Chair Sandra Goodsell describes what waits in store.

Experienced singers wanted!

Celebrated Hastings-based composer Polo Piatti is looking for 20 committed singers to join the distinguished London Mozart Players performing the world-premiere of his powerful and emotional multi-faith oratorio Libera Nos. The new choir will also be joined by members of the Hastings Sinfonia, five soloists and a children’s choir. HOT’s Chandra Masoliver reports.

National Youth Jazz Orchestra links up with piano festival

As its inaugural season approaches, Hastings International Piano Festival has gone into partnership with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) to provide a platform for the orchestra’s ambitious 2020 educational offer. Nick Terdre reports.
