Pier proves a welcome saviour for live music in Hastings

The lockdown months have necessarily been a barren time for live music in Hastings, so Darren Johnson is pleased to celebrate the return of live performances on the pier with John Bownas, who played a key role in bringing it about. Photos By Russell Jacobs.

HAF-Gallery--reopening

Change comes to Hastings Arts Forum

It is with great relief that galleries, pubs and restaurants are now allowed to open. Albeit with social distancing. People have been so desperate for a bit of culture that in London, apparently, it has been difficult to book a time slot to visit. So Hastings Arts Form is open again, in a new guise. HOT’ Lauris Morgan-Griffiths went along to see and spoke to Martin Bradshaw about the changes.

Rock stars with a difference

Lucy Bell Gallery’s latest show Days of Rock has a collection of images of some of the effervescent 70s and 80s rock stars and photographers who captured that time both on stage and behind the scenes. Out of this pot pourri of images one particular set is markedly different. They are the work of Andrew Catlin, who has captured, in contrast to the exuberance of the stage acts, quiet and reflective moments. HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths. met up with him to find out more about his practice.
