After a delay of one week, Hastings Borough Council’s Full Council finally met last week to decide how the new body, in no party’s overall control, would be organised. Chris Connelley takes the political temperature after frantic negotiations secured a shared approach.
HOT’s Chris Connelley spent Friday at this year’s election count and reports on the reaction from the floor as the results emerged which eventually moved Hastings Borough Council into no overall control.
Locals in their hundreds were bowled over by the new arts pavilion which has opened in Alexandra Park. HOT’s Chris Connelley joined the Easter weekend revellers sampling this new fount of wellbeing activities, and also took the photos.
The popular Kings Road Market in St Leonards returned this weekend after a two-year break. Chris Connelley was there to search out a bargain and speak to stall-holders, and also take the snaps.
Hastings Green Party launched its campaign for the May council elections with an action day and a VIP visit from Brighton Pavilion MP, Caroline Lucas, who joined candidates and supporters for a walkabout in target wards on 19 March. HOT’s Chris Connelley tagged along.
