Women’s Voice invites all women to their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 14 January at 6pm at the East Hastings Sea Angling Association (EHSAA), the Stade, just near the lifeboat house. The AGM will be followed by an evening of theatre, music, socialising and refreshments to celebrate the end of our This Is Not Love project. The event is free, and all women are welcome. Women’s Voice chair, Ann Kramer, spoke to HOT about the upcoming event.

The question is posed by Richard Price, who notes that many Local Wildlife Sites cannot be protected as they have private owners more interested in developing them than appreciating the flora and fauna. For National Tree Week (27 November-5 December), four local apple trees were planted in Gensing Gardens in St Leonards-on-Sea. The trees were planted by members of Arts On Prescription and children from Christ Church CoE Primary Academy. HOT’s Erica Smith and Joan Taylor-Rowan were there to help welcome the new trees.
Hastings people are never backwards in coming forwards to contribute to those in need. And artists in particular are generous to a fault in putting their creative hands into their studio pockets to help others. Last weekend, they did it again by kindly offering their work for auction to benefit those who have risked unbelievable obstacles to find refuge on our shores. Lauris Morgan-Griffiths spoke to Stewart Walton about the logistics and generosity of his fellow artists.
