Waterweek 2022

Together artists Clare Whistler and Charlotte Still have been following an organic process of being with and thinking about water and where this process will take them. A water wandering; inquisitive, interactive, immersive, reflective, poetic, experiential, unexpected, spontaneous and flowing. On the way they have constantly looked for ways to share their experience and convey their rapidly growing concerns and reverence for water.

What is the point of Local Wildlife Sites?

The question is posed by Richard Price, who notes that many Local Wildlife Sites cannot be protected as they have private owners more interested in developing them than appreciating the flora and fauna. The history of the Clive Vale Local Wildlife Site is a case in point. The writer also took the photos.

Urgent help needed for ‘Bottles From…’

‘Bottles From…’ is a one-of-a-kind environmental project, catalysed by the government’s proposal to include a Deposit Return Scheme for drinking containers in the coming Environmental Bill. We are urged by Andy Dinsdale, executive director for Strandliners, a local community interest company (CIC), to record any glass or plastic drinking bottles and metal cans we see in our rural and urban environments and send our information to them by 31 May. HOT’s Zelly Restorick writes.
