Fiona Denning recently opened her studio to the public for Coastal Currents, the popular Hastings area September Festival . She, and her fellow artists in the St Leonards studio house, were hosts over two weekends to over three hundred and fifty curious art visitors. Now she has a show at Hastings Arts Forum, HOT’s Lauris Morgan-Griffiths went along to see it.
Launching June 28th, is a regular Thursday night of eclectic entertainment, set in the open air grounds of the fabulous Beacon venue on the West Hill. Local artists and performers form all disciplines will present their unique offering within a night of diverse sets.
People attending Arts on Prescription creative sessions have been working on a mural inspired by the lives and places within the Trinity Triangle. On 13 June, the mural will go on display at Hastings library. HOT’s Zelly Restorick met up with Tara Reddy, co-founder of Arts on Prescription to find out more.

It is always worth keeping a watchful eye on the exhibitions at Solaris Gallery in Norman Road as they usually put on thought-provoking shows. The return of the much loved Active Arts & Friends variety show marks a much needed boost for the spirits of the Hastings and Bexhill Mencap Artists, who after two years of Covid enforced cancellations are making a welcome return to the De La Warr Pavilion stage on the 6 July.
