Sea Change claims ignorance of QGR budget change

As the spotlight is turned ever more searchingly on Sea Change Sussex and its projects, the economic development company has made the startling claim that it was unaware that the Queensway Gateway Road (QGR) budget was drastically reduced in 2015. Selep withdraws Sea Change’s North Queensway grant

Sea Change Sussex’s plans for the North Queensway Innovation Park suffered a serious setback last week when the South East Local Enterprise Partnership withdrew its £3.5m grant offer. A firm start date for the Queensway Gateway Road is still unavailable but work on the Bexhill Enterprise Park North has resumed following the release of funds. Nick Terdre reports.

The Green Party’s Cllr Julia Hilton has added her voice to the many objections lodged against Sea Change Sussex’s plan to develop the North Queensway Innovation Park, complaining of the council’s lack of scrutiny of the company. Sea Change’s North Queensway plans prompt many objections

Sea Change Sussex has filed its application to build industrial units on the site of the undeveloped North Queensway Innovation Park, prompting the submission of some 70 objections and a petition. Meanwhile Rother District Council faces a hefty bill after the company won its appeal against the refusal of an application for the Bexhill Enterprise Park. Nick Terdre reports.

Road project still a headache for Sea Change and ESCC

Despite its short length, the Queensway Gateway Road continues to be a major headache for Sea Change Sussex and its client, ESCC. The opening of the temporary link, originally expected in early 2021, is now mooted for August, while the original scheme may only come on stream in July or August 2023, almost seven years behind schedule. Public funds for Sea Change to develop empty business park

Construction of Queensway Gateway Road resumes

Sea Change Sussex has resumed construction of the Queensway Gateway Road after a long delay. The road is now following a temporary route while East Sussex County Council seeks to take possession of the area needed to fulfil its original trajectory through compulsory purchase. Nick Terdre reports.
