Coronavirus statistical update: teething problems for test and trace

The app which the government was trialling on the Isle of Wight has had to be abandoned – a setback for the test and trace system which lies at the heart of the government’s strategy for containing the spread of coronavirus while progressively relaxing restrictions and getting the economy and schools functioning again. Healthcare trust gears up to meet corona virus challenge

The number of critical care beds has been doubled as East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust implements a series of measures to enable it to cope with the coronavirus outbreak. The number of Covid-19 deaths in East Sussex stands  at 10. Nick Terdre reports.

The weather is fine but stay at home to help fight the virus!

The fine weather forecast for the weekend –  sunshine and temperatures up to 16C in Hastings on Sunday – has prompted councils and tourism bodies to call on people not to flock to beauty spots and the sea but to stay at home. Nick Terdre reports.

Council and partners set up community support hub

As the corona virus tightens its grip on society, there has been a heart-warming upswell across the country of support and offers of help for those who most need it – the elderly, vulnerable, those suffering from the virus and those who for whatever reason are unable to provide for themselves in conditions of lockdown. Hastings Borough Council, together with partners, has set up a community hub to coordinate the effort. Nick Terdre reports.
