A Vacant Space residency with a Vision of Nature

Axisweb member artists have begun their residency in an empty shop in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Hastings. They’ve been collaborating during lockdown with the theme of Nature as a Shared Vision. HAF-Gallery--reopening

Change comes to Hastings Arts Forum

It is with great relief that galleries, pubs and restaurants are now allowed to open. Albeit with social distancing. People have been so desperate for a bit of culture that in London, apparently, it has been difficult to book a time slot to visit. So Hastings Arts Form is open again, in a new guise. HOT’ Lauris Morgan-Griffiths went along to see and spoke to Martin Bradshaw about the changes.

Zoom Arts presents: The French Connection

 Zoom Arts members Nick Hill and Agnes Chevalier will unite once again as they present their second show of the year at the Zoom Gallery, Warrior Square Station. The French Connection exhibition will begin next Monday 27 July and continue all week until 8 August, from 10-4pm or by appointment. HOT’s Jordan Dixon writes.

The return of The Time Machine

Covid-19 came along just in time to put a damper on St Leonards’ exploration of H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine during April. The A Town Explores a Book festival rapidly adjusted to become an online event, but the closure of the shops and restrictions on public open spaces meant that many of the events, exhibitions and shop window displays could not happen at all.

BLM creative call-out from Hastings Museum and Art Gallery

Hastings Museum and Art Gallery is offering its platform to local black and ethnic minority communities to share their responses to George Floyd’s killing and the Black Lives Matter movement. “The Sea of Curiosity” stories from the exhibition of paintings by Keith Waller

Artist Keith Waller recently appealed for writers to respond to a series of his paintings by writing a short narrative. He was overwhelmed with responses. This is the first short story, by a writer simply known as Spike.
