Isolation Station Hastings marks Mental Health Awareness Week with a daily show at 5pm
Thrive at 5 goes live for Mental Health Awareness Week
Tomorrow (Monday 18 May) is the first #ThriveAt5 show for Mental Health Awareness Week 2020. Isolation Station Hastings is launching a 5pm show which will be on every night of the week except Friday.
Sharon Rhodes will be hosting the show which will cover a different aspect of mental health and wellbeing on each of the six shows. Every day Sharon will be joined by a mental health service user and member of staff from a local organisation. Sharon is a mental health service user herself and she has learned to manage her bi-polar episodes and has become a passionate champion for mental health in the town.
Monday’s programme explores the Keep Learning aspect of the Wheel Of Wellbeing and talking to staff and a service user from Southdown who provide vital mental health services in Hastings.
Tuesday’s show will focus on Being Active and Maggie and Shar from the Seaview Project will be talking about the benefits of keeping active through lockdown. There will also be an update on what is happening to Hastings’ homeless people.
The theme of Wednesday’s show will be Giving – the national theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is Kindness and Jacy from MIND will talk about how important it is to be kind to yourself and to others.
On Thursday, the show will concentrate on the Connect aspect of the Wheel of Wellbeing and Debbie from Hastings Voluntary Action will talk about the Befriending Service and how connecting people in need of companionship with volunteers benefits both.
There is no show on Friday evening, but on Saturday Tara Reddy from Arts On Prescription will talk about the Take Note segment of the Wheel of Wellbeing.
Sunday’s show looks at Care – and will focus on Caring for our environment and our plante. Evie from i-Rock will talk about climate change and why this is such a big challenge for young people.
Each day Taylor’s Seafood Restaurant is offering a free Omega 3 packed lunch and the show will be interactive. Isolation Station Hastings is a Facebook ‘TV Station’ with a mission to ‘live stream the good vibes of Hastings & St Leonards’.
